Many new recordings -- I was wondering that with the inability to record big projects with the COVID that the majors are going to their archives for new distribution.

Ormandy
Follow Ups:
Just listened to the Prokofiev Symphony No. 5 with Rodzinski and the NYP. Sounds good for 1948.
The Sibelius 4 with Rodzinski was already issued in a New York/Sony box. I wonder if this is the same transfer.
I have a transfer of the Rachmaninoff Symphony No. 2 on a "Great Conductors of the 20th Century" set. Lots of cuts, as was the norm in those days, but still worth hearing if you are interested in historical recordings.
Holding out hope for a Mitropoulos box.
In some of those older Ormandy performances, he seemed to permit himself more freedom than he did on his later recordings of the same works. I know there was one performance of the Tchaikovsky Fifth (not sure if it's the one shown on HD Tracks) where I was surprised by the portamenti he allowed the strings to take in certain places.
Of course, as I've mentioned before, 24/96 might be overkill, given the dates of the original recordings, but I'm still glad to have the performances available in this format anyway!
