Not at all! Just a good detective.
Follow Ups:
. . . can you tell us more? ;-)
Gee, I thought we were here to discuss music and recordings.
Anything you want to say about Schulhoff and/or this or other recordings?
Therefore, I have no idea what you're talking about in your OP. Does that answer your question?
What I was doing in the OP was pointing others to Schulhoff and his interesting music. Lots of OPs here do that sort of thing. I can't discuss the review for I did not read it. I was hoping to find out what other people think about Schulhoff and his music, and why I had not heard of him before.
But you seem concerned with process and if you MUST know how I found this interesting music, and it seems you must, see the video below.
. . . but since you didn't read the review, I don't see how you could know if Hurwitz got it right. (?)
Nothing wrong with pointing folks to interesting music of course.
Hurwitz never plays anything in his videos but that he recommends it. I just connected the dots . . . . and listened.
Any chance you might listen to this Schulhoff and provide comments? It's on a label you usually admire, and on Qobuz.
I listened to about half the tracks on that Stott/BIS album. That Toccata after "Kitten on the Keys" is very resourceful and Stott seems to play it very well indeed! Every so often, I thought Schulhoff's music also sounded as if Debussy and Ravel had moved to Central Europe!
Just to repeat: these were first impressions only, and I did not listen to the Sonata on this album.
