Some pieces should be heard as well as seen (my son included 4'33" in his degree recital along with Mozart and Ives).
Seriously, I recall a concert from the days of "happenings" when a bunch of chamber players wandered around the stage making various squawks and beeps. The climax of the piece was a musician climbing a stepladder and hitting a bell.
Then there was a piano concert by Zygmunt Krausz (I think that was his name) at the Cleveland Museum of Art. The only thing I remember is watching him wrap a teddy bear in a blanket and placing it gently inside the piano to end the recital.
