I don't know if Sokolov recorded Rameau commercially, but I have some Rameau pieces from a live performance that are wonderfully played.
On that Olafsson record, I liked the Rameau a lot, didn't like his way with Debussy,
Herbst Auditorium in SF a few years ago - Sokolov was wonderful at the concert I heard too!
Sokolov performed in SF a few years ago? I thought he hasn't come to the US in at least a couple of decades.
I heard him live in Bolzano 3 years ago. As always, his encores included a Rameau piece and it was wonderful
In some ways though, it seems like yesterday! ;-)
Also like Tharaud's Rameau as well.
Also fascinating to hear Macrcelle Meyer's.
