'to the now discredited Freud'
balderdash!
Jacques Lacan, Melany Klein, Bowlby and Mary Ainsworth disagree
especially Bowlby
it seems there's an unhealthy projection with a dash of sublimation occurring here Herr CFL. please be comfortable while we have a talk
now, tell me, how long haben you habt these feelings about eure Vater?
having any dreams you find disturbing?
be well,
Follow Ups:
The last of them died in the 90's - a generation ago. I said now discredited. Maybe I should have said "now largely discredited"? ;-)
(Just like Schoenberg is largely discredited among concert goers these days!)
so ... these dreams are of Schoenberg?
yes, that is disturbing
perhaps he bears a passing resemblance to a family member?
tell us of this relative ... is it not Mutter?

better to dream of
that was not Lila Loomis's (née Crane) discovery
regards,
Well, I concede that there was a different kind of "Mutter" in "Psycho".
indeed ... Norman Bates was at once both and neither
the breakthrough in meta thinking from you that I've been waiting for!
I just don't remember why
maybe it's the 'glass house' thing ... hmm
I'll have to 'reflect' on this
regards,
. . . which I've been humoring over the last few posts? ;-)
no ... for your consideration:
the greatest teacher will always be a student
the poorest is one that deems themselves adept
acts of condescension reveal one or the other
so please, humor me, you'll thank yourself later
be well,
. . . is indeed channeling a bit of wisdom.
In connection with which, I want to tell you about my lunch today - from a local Chinese restaurant. The cookie's message read: "perhaps you will forget some of the kind (or angry) words you say today, but the recipient may cherish (or resent) them over a lifetime".
And as Tom used to say, "Fortunately, I like Chinese cookies!".
I tried to land that gig at the fortune cookie company but landed at Hallmark instead ...
'died in the 90's - a generation ago'
I don't think 20 years is a generation
... now, about those dreams ... ???
Look it up - It's even in. . . Wikipedia! ;-)
(I guess some of them hillbilly marriages contribute to the overall statistics! Of course, back then, the legal age for marriage was as young as 14 - at least in some states! The generations will pass quickly with that kind of arrangement!)
'generations will pass quickly'
fear not dying, fear never having lived
'some of them hillbilly marriages'
you left out 'there' and that there's poor 'merican talkin'
should be: some of them there hillbilly marriages
please take notes
; )
since it took you over 24 hours to come up with that color me skeptical
meanwhile
Excuse me while I go catch up with some more recently arrived Bruckner SACD's I've neglected. Them thar SACD's're just cryin' out to be listened to.
