Good to see Valentina in the video too! This video comes from the time when a couple of nasty political campaigns started to be launched against her, which led to such things as the cancellation of her appearances with the Toronto SO.

  Ever since I saw this thread and recalled it I've been trying to remember the soloist and can't. William Kraft perhaps? Ring a bell? I was told back then, in the Seventies, he had been an up and comer as a youngster but performance anxiety and the bottle derailed his career. Our conductor was married to Eunice Podis, the resident pianist of the Cleveland back then and they were helping him with a come back.
