That's a nice overview of her career, but I was puzzled by Mr. White's claim that "the death of Neveu in an aeroplane crash in 1949 left Haendel as the sole woman among the great violin soloists in the years following the second world war, and a role model to many." Surely that would have been news to Johanna Martzy?
In any case, RIP.

Looking at the birthdates: Morini 1904, Haendel 1923 or 1928, Martzy 1924.
Very sad to hear of this. She was a very popular artist in the UK especially at the Proms where she seemed to have a regular annual booking for many seasons.
I have recently been enjoying an LP of her performance of the Walton concerto which I find preferable to the "official" one with Walton in attendance by Kyung-Wha Chung.
