order classical music CDs? You know, something akin to what "Powell's Bookstore" is to online book ordering.
Follow Ups:
ArkivMusic.com is seldom the lowest-cost option, but it's a very useful resource for deep catalog. Plus their drill-down menu is handy for comparing all available versions of a given work. I've never regretted ordering from them.
ImportCDs.com's inventory is often spotty, but their prices can be remarkably low. Those Sony/RCA big box reissues, for example, are often dirt cheap on this site. And they offer a fairly good selection of Japanese imports, if you can find them. That's my main complaint with this site: the search function can be quite frustrating. One has to be resourceful.
I would add my assent to the favorable opinions about Presto Classical. They always have several labels on sale, making their prices fully competitive with domestic suppliers.

I do try to minimize my ordering from Sleazos, but I can't help but do so every once in a while. In this case I ordered 75% from Presto Classical in the UK (who BTW sometimes beat Amazon and their resellers in terms of pricing - although these days, they have a notice up on their site indicating that shipments to the US may be delayed because of Covid-19), and 25% from Amazon (a particular item which was only available at Presto as a download, not as a physical disc). Another site I use sometimes is Europadisc, also in the UK. These places are all for general ordering from a large catalog of generally available titles. If I want to just scan through a list of bargains, I also browse BRO (Berkshire Record Outlet) from time to time.
These sites I've mentioned are all for obtaining physical discs (although Presto also has an extensive selection of downloads too, some of them in hi-rez - although none in MCh). Most of my purchases these days are downloads.
I just received two box sets from Presto: Jochum Philips recordings and Mehta LA Phil recordings. Got 'em before their release in the US and came in less than a week.
They probably have that "possible delay" notice up on their site as a CYA mechanism! ;-)
I get shipments from Russia and Belarus from time to time, and they'll occasionally get stuck in customs for awhile. (The officials have to make sure that Putin's not sending me any "Putin-Bot" material to interfere in our elections!)
BTW, that Mehta/LAPO box looks nice - I didn't realize he'd made so many recordings in LA.
Based in the UK.

...and Europadisc (however I am actually in the UK).
If what I want is only available on silver disc then I compare the prices of both and Europadisc is the usual winner. If there is a download then Europadisc is obviously out of the picture. However as a member of Qobuz Sublime+ then their discounts are so attractive that most of my download purchases are from them.
