Because of a May post, I got interested in player piano units, but I have a big, important question.
On several U-Tube films regarding the Disklavier system, mostly used by Yamaha, the presenter pronounced the system "dis-klah-veer." I would have thought it should be pronounced "dis-klah-vee-air, but the former was used by several presenters, not just one.
Does the company itself pronounce it "dis-klah-veer" by choice?
Nobody ever heard of The Well-tempered Klavier being pronounced as
"klah-veer.
I know this is just a way stop on the road of life, but inquiring minds want to know.

pronounced, cla-vee-AY. I've always heard the German pronunciation, however, perhaps because of my interest in Bach's work. Still, that was the same as the pronunciation you attribute to the Disklavier. Never heard any last syllable pronounced as "vee-air" because that would be the French pronunciation if it had an "e" on the end, i.e. Klaviere. It doesn't. Hope that's confusing enough.

I think they are pronouncing it as if it included the German word for piano, Klavier, which is pronounced in English as klaVEER (two syllables).
