I know him from the NPR radio show, "From the Top", which features young classical musicians. He's the hosts and occasional piano accompanist.
He's done a couple of albums dedicated to the music of Radiohead.
Thoughts?
Follow Ups:
A**hole... See the comment in the link... I have the pictured CD and it's pretty damn good. Matter of fact this entire series by the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra is excellent!
He may well be an a**hole. Your link is between two people, which isn't much of a sample of evidence.
But listening to his show on NPR I would give him the benefit of the doubt.
that talked about his firing / being let go from his show "From The Top" which I can't seem to find now... apparently he said some pretty petty things in the press about NPR and his dismissal... I don't know the guy, so whether it's true or not... As I said, I liked his Gershwin CD so looked him up to see what else he had done and found those articles....
He was always gracious and fun with the young musicians. He definitely made the show what it was. Never as good again, IMO.
I did see where he made a negative comment about Trump and/or one of his rallies. He apologized but I'm sure that didn't make it go away.

I saw his first Radiohead transcription and I thought 'no way will that work!' but after a couple of listens I think it works very well as he is always noodling and not holding notes (sorry, don't know the technical term).
On the down side, he seems to use this same technique on everything I've heard. He did an album of Nick Drake songs and I thought a piano transcription could suit them very well but, IMHO, that would need a more simple non-dense approach and I do not enjoy that album.
