I have the Kirschnereit/Beeman set. Excellent sound. A BIG orchestra. Kirschnereit is creative and musical without constantly drawing attention to himself (as in, "Look what I'm doing, isn't that interesting?").
This would not have been my first choice as a complete set, but it's a different view that I enjoy when contrasted with some of the more mainline performances of Mozart concertos.
Follow Ups:
These unheralded musicians come out of the woodwork from seemingly nowhere, and produce wonderful performances!
I picked up the Kirschnereit Mozrt concertos in a discounted box while shopping with a friend at Daedalus Books--very happy with them.
And I bought a 24/88.2 (stereo) download of Kirschnereit and the Amaryllis Quartet in a wonderful performance of the Brahms Piano Quintet; Brahms third piano conata was also part of the purchase, but I haven't listened to it in a while.
This was via Qobuz this past afternoon - it sounded great to me! Ms. CfL knows this concerto very well, having grown up with with the Anda/DG performance as her imprint version - she liked Kirschnereit (at least in this concerto) better than she did Geza!
