I am very interested in your experience after your auditioning Forbes Lake and Compass Lake. The Forbes Lake I audtioned is RCA, which works not perfect with Burmester and all other XLR cables. So, it is a little unfair to say it has not so much difference between it and SQ88B G3. Anyhow, I do notice G5 ICs are much more quiet than those of G3,and so more tranparent, and more musical, which I am looking for at priority. Both Burmester and Amati are very musical, IMO, and so I want to keep it through all the run.

Thank you for your response and observations, I think you may have ruled out the G3 for me. I too go for a more musical than analytical approach, that's why I figured you were listening to Siltech and why I suggested the NBS as well. My system is single-ended, so I won't be concerned about rca/balanced issues. I'll let you know; hopefully the Forbes Lake sounds great, my wallet's getting too thin these days!
