If his claim were true (i.e. audio cables make harmonic distortions), it would be worth a JAES or even a Science paper. Period.
Follow Ups:
So get off your ass, follow the procedure prescribed above by Curl and present the findings if you like.......Doing this from memory, but recall the test frequency was 1K and you will need just over 100db of resolution before the FFT analysis.....The truth is out there....Call me or Curl a liar again and I will tell you where you can put your multimeter.....

I said that his claim (i.e. audio cables make harmonic distortions thus non-linear?) was totally wrong. If you don't know the difference between the two, it is your problem.
John Curl did not prescibe any procedure. If his previous posting looks like a procedure to you. take a look at some technical papers in an IEEE journal. I have repeatedly asked John Curl to offer the detailed procedure and the measurement data so that any competent engineers can reproduce them. He has not done so.
figure out how to do the analysis from the brief description Curl posted above then you are no engineer....Give him a call at 510-883-0885 if you have questions.....John told me it took 45 minutes to send you the scanned pages so they should be there now and if you know how to read them it will tell you that wires are not linear at levels normal between preamps and amps.......Sorry if the graphs shake up your cozy little world, but, as you should know, there is a very close correlation between spectral analysis and what we hear from anything under test......I quite honestly don't like your tone and suggest you go find another sandbox to play in as both John and I have been forthcoming with everything an engineer would need to prove nonlinearities in wire to anyone......If you are interested in improving your view of how things really function then do the work before you make broad sweeping statements regarding how linear wire really is.....
I have sent Mr Hyun measurements that I found in my notes. Of course this would be worth a paper. I made my AES contributions years ago, and would not bother to do another paper.
I have not received the measurements yet, but I guess they are on the way.If they only include measurement results, please add the detailed measurement procedure so that any competent engineer can reproduce (i.e. verify) them. I'm looking forward to them!
Thanks.
