Normally I use Duelund 12awg tinned copper wire for speaker cable with great success. This time I ordered some 10awg wire and enough to actually run it in the shotgun configuration. So 2x10awg per terminal or 7awg.
Currently I using just the 10ga for each speaker as I wait for some minor parts for this shotgun configuration. What changes is sound would you expect there to be once I go from 10awg to 7awg? The length is 1.5meter.
I will be posting the results once everything is completed, including any perceived changes in sound.

Everything is done and connected.
1.5m is pretty short for speaker wires, probably the shortest I've ever used. But now I have 1.5m x 7awg cables running to my Focal's.
Previously I used 12awg Duelund connected to Dynaudio's in a different environment. Comparing the 12awg Duelund to my backup BlueJeans Cable, I can easily say the Duelund's were more open and life-like, reaching both lower and higher without any harshness.
Comparing the 10awg Duelund to the same BlueJeans cable I can say the 10awg definitely pulled more low end out of the mix. This pretty much coincides with popular opinion of increasing awg with Duelund. The rest of the frequency range remained the same as compared with the 12awg with BlueJeans cable. Not having apples-to-apples with gear and my new gear not being broken in, its hard to get into more details without talking about attributes of the gear as supposed to the cable.
However, with the same gear using 10awg and 7awg Duelund I can say the low end did not become bloated or over bearing, ie the sound did not become even more bassie. Instead the soundstage got deeper and bigger in all directions. Everything seems to have gained just a tad more flesh, so that even at the lowest volumes vocals and lyrics are easily understood and things like picks dragging across strings are still clearly audible.
These 7awg will have to breakin though, seeing that one leg is comprised of broken in wire and the other is of new wire. So in a month or so they might tell a different story. As Forest Gump might say, "Breaking in a pair of cables is like a box of chocolates...".
Victor Wooten's bass sounds perfect with perfect placement in the soundstage. Vocals on the tracks were clean and weighty with realism. I've been a fan of Victor since before he went solo and played with Bela Fleck...they are all still heavy in rotation.
All the different instruments and her unique vocal style is always a pleasure to listen too. The airiness and clarity of Sona's music filled the room.

Getting started with a rough build. Afterwards I'm going to need to let the positive leg burn in, as its new wire compared to the 300hrs or so thats already running.I'm guessing the sound will be something bigger on the lower octaves although thats hardly what I need. Truth be told a single run of 10awg sounds fine, but I have extra wire so you know how it goes.
Lessons learned on the build. In the past I've experimented with Duelund wire for powercords, IC's, digital and of course speaker wire. One thing that each use has in common is, its all in the twist with Duelund wire. Tight twisting is not recommended, neither is tight braiding. My current Duelund power cords are braided, but very loosely, amps seem to love it. My current 7awg speaker build uses 10awg runs in a 1-twist per 2-3in for each polarity. Then the polarities themselves are twisted in the same 1-twist per 3in or so until the last 6in at the ends.
One other thing which I recommend highly. After you strip the wire, take a rag with some rubbing alcohol and wipe down the exposed wires. You will see them go from a dull tin coated copper wire to a shiny appearance. This is probably removing the oil which coats the cotton dielectric. This will provide the best contact with binding posts.

Still getting around to building a pair of shootgun Duelunds.In the mean time I've noticed that the current single run of 10awg seems to still be breaking in, and/or my gear is still breaking in....all of which only has about 250hrs or so, maybe close to 300. Either way, I think I need to wait until things settle down to remove that break-in variable.
Just for kicks I did a little experiment with the twist. From the start there was a very, very loose twist about 1 or so per foot. I totally untwisted the wires and had them apart from each other for a day. The sound because a bit less focused, noticeably so. The next day I twisted the cables about 3-4 per foot, I could tell immediately that the focus came back. I'm going to let that stay while I think about how to twist the wires for each polarity and how to twist the polarities together.
I've been looking for and debating whether I should use banana plugs, spades or bare wire for the ends. Can't fit two 10awg or a 7awg bare wire into the speaker or amp lugs so I'd have to stagger and crimp the wires so that only one end on each side is exposed to insert into the whole for bare wire. Otherwise using a banana or space means adding a bit of 'something' from the banana or spade [as they are not 100% transparent].
Side note: I don't doubt the Jupiter cables provide a bit more detail, esp considering they use lacquered cotton as supposed to oiled cotton for the Duelund. So maybe another experiment is in order.

From my experiments with Duelund wire of different gauges for speaker cable the difference are quite clear. 12 GA vs. 16 GA has much more bass, too much in my system in fact. I'd extrapolate that shotgun 10 GA (7 GA) will move further in that direction.
I ended up using 16 GA, and in fact recently switched to Jupiter tinned copper wire that is similar to Duelund, but I like it better in my system, YMMV.
than Duelund 16 GA? Or smoother?
Jupiter 16 GA is not brighter than Duelund 16GA, I feel it's has more details without being bright or strident.
I think you might be on to something.I used 12Ga before and now 10ga [shotgun 7ga not built yet], but the 10ga takes a step in the bass direction too like you mentioned.
After breakin the highs came back and everything evened out again though. But the low-end definitely has more weight.
Can you elaborate on any sonic differences between Jupiter and Duelund? I've used both companies capacitors and think they are both great.

The differences are subtle and not easy to describe. I's say Jupiter is more "precise" and coherent.

My calculations indicate that your 1.5 m wire resistance will go from .005 ohms (10 AWG) t0 .0025 (2 parallel 10 AWG). If your speakers are nominally 8 ohms, your amp will see a 8.005 ohm load nominal vs. a 8.0025 ohm load nominal. My hearing is likely not good enough to hear the difference.
