Rhodium-plated connectors take plenty of time to burn-in. After 150 hours the soundstage should open-up a bit more, with less glare, better detail, and more natural dynamics.
Rhodium tends to remain a bit cold vs. the warmth of gold, so a mix of both within a connector/jack interface tends to provide good synergy, with 'best of both worlds' sound qualities.
Follow Ups:
Duster, your description of "After 150 hours the soundstage should open-up a bit more, with less glare, better detail, and more natural dynamics.". That is what happened. Thanks
Glad to know about the improvement, cdc.
Cheers, Duster
Now about 170 hours in and it feels/sounds to me that the connectors are still burning in. Your description of "After 150 hours the soundstage should open-up a bit more, with less glare, better detail, and more natural dynamics." sounds about right. I am not sure about the natural dynamics but transient notes are a bit faster, especially with instruments. Vocals feel a tad thinner or with less weight though.
