This is for anyone with any experience. I was wondering if these are good rhodium connectors.
Not long after the fake Oyaide AC connectors showed-up on eBay, I bought the product and was not impressed with how it sounded.
Whether or not it's a good sounding connector could be based on a listener's expectation or subjective opinion. It certainly did not sound like a genuine Oyaide product, and based on its own lackluster sonic signature I had no desire to use it.
If you are seeking an inexpensive set of good sounding AC connectors, I suggest this particular set of Viborg Milled Aluminum Gold AC connectors.
Thanks Duster. You have provided probably the most fair response to my question. About a mth ago I started playing with power cords. I purchased a few of them used and and in my current system I can tell the difference between them immediately. Because of that I decided to try making my own. Since i'm new at this I didn't want to spend a lot from the get go. I ended up buying the Valab connectors.
Which particular Valab AC connectors did you decide to purchase, and what make/model power cord(s) was terminated with them, Audiogabby?
Good compared to what, and in what way? In my experience, cheap crap from China sounds like cheap crap from China or anywhere else.
On an asylum member's recommendation, I once bought a pair of IEC power inlets made of the same blue plastic, and they were awful. Do you believe that these are really pure copper and rhodium? Are the manufacturers such generous people that they will sell something for less than the cost of materials?
berate is 8 and benign is 9
I've never tried them, but if they really are rhodium over pure copper, then they likely sound good. For that price they sound too good to be true. I suspect they're plated brass.
It's so easy ...
Dill....those that you've posted from E-bay look like but are not Oyeida. It says generic. If one wants to throw away the little money, but these are not serious.
I'm the OP and I knew they were generic connectors. My question was more about the sound of the connector itself. I was not expecting it to be as good as an Oyaide. More of a comparison to other connectors. Thanks for any info you could provide.
USD $ 13, after cutting the ebay fee, it will be down to $ 11 or $ 10, free shipping, so that part is another $ 4 to 5, packing and handling by seller....
I tend to believe it is either fake or stolen item.
