Folks, I'm looking for an 8 outlet power distributor. Is the above mentioned piece worth having?
I was browsing, and this thing is in my price range, but I know nothing about it.
Appreciate any help.
Follow Ups:
The Furutech e-TP80 is a good looking audiophile-quality power distributor featuring high-performance AC outlets. I recommend including an audiophile-quality power cord to connect the Furutech e-TP80 to the AC outlet installed at the wall.
See link:
Thanks, D, I'll probably get that thing. I think they have a 30 day return policy.
Acrolink has an 8 outlet device that looks pretty much exactly like the Furutech for about $150. Same box, likely the same clear receptacles, likely not a complete ripoff. I tried to copy and paste the photo but it didn't work. You should be able to fine it by searching for Acrolink 8 outlet... Edit: It's the Acrolink AC80 as low as $120. Looks virtually identical to the Furutech in the photo put up by Duster The "Furutech" product is the TP80

Tweaker, have you ever heard the saying "If something looks too good to be true, it probably is"?Same box? The box looks quite similar. Same material, machining, wiring, and electronics? Not likely.
Likely the same clear receptacles? At $120 for the complete unit, not a chance.
Likely not a complete ripoff? Maybe it isn't. But it has about as much in common with the Furutech unit it so blatantly copies as a power strip from Home Depot. Suggesting this counterfeit branded power strip is an equal to the Furutech for less money is beyond ridiculous.

mage: Fake "Acrolink" branded "Furutech style" knock-off product.
Buyers should be aware of the amount of audio products available on eBay and other online sources that are "fake branded" in order to either fool shoppers who don't look deeper into what they are looking at, or the ignorance of people who might think, "if it looks Hi-Fi, that's all I care about". Buyers should understand that the respected Acrolink name brand is being used as a fake branding tool for a number of audio product knock-offs. Not just for a lookalike counterfeit version of an actual Acrolink product, but for non-existing products and knock-off versions of other products such as various audio connectors, power cords, AC connectors, a Furutech style AC outlet, and a power distributor being fake branded as an Acrolink power distributor, of which Acrolink doesn't have anything to do with. Acrolink simply does not make or sell power distributors, or an AC outlet for that matter.
See link:
Good grief. With the outlet you linked, they rip off Acrolink for the brand name, then rip off Furutech (almost verbatim) for the model designation. Amazing. And disgusting.
I just can't see myself doing that. As for AC receptacle, I assume you meant the in-wall one, it's not gonna happen now, because there is a renovation planned, and the current one will be removed to put the new one with better wiring closer to the audio rack.
So, now, I have to find some reliable distributor with presentable WAF factor, since it's going to be in our living room.
The Valab products are even nicer looking, likely without the price tag.
...but I'll never buy anything from them with their "occ" wire in it. And that thing surely must have wiring. Probably what they called " OCC from Sumitomo."
I have two power cords that you can see on eBay under their listings, supposedly made from Sumitomo 's OCC copper, with the picture of some piece of paper from Sumitomo's factory. So, I contacted Sumitomo, and they said, basically, that it's BS, and anything that comes from that region with their name on it is fake. But their chassis looks very good for sure. Too bad I don't do the DIY thing.

IMHO I have to pretty much whole heartedly agree with Duster on the DIY thing. IMHO the AC receptacle is what should be considered first. It will be a bit of work but likely much better sounding than many commercial alternatives. Maybe try one brass Hubble receptacle first and another "audiophile grade" one. 4 of those in a box with the X type cap will sound real good if you like the receptacle in the first place. HIFI has an 8 outlet aluminium box for $80. Real easy project with a premade box.

I don't know what you plan to plug into it but it filters three parts of the noise spectrum so its versatile. If you need a whole system filter and you arent drawing tons of current this is nice. Only comes with a 14 gauge power cord and I know of a couple of people who said improving that cable helped. I've never really heard anyone complain about BC or their gear.

Thanks for your response. Basically, I want to connect everything I have, including my amplification. The stock pc is not going to be used. My main concern is if it could alter the sound.
Not unlike other audiophile upgrades and improvement efforts, if you have not done this already, you might consider upgrading the AC outlet installed at the wall, and the power cord that connects it to a new or used power line conditioner at the same time. I would suggest that you determine a target budget level for a power line conditioner purchase, and factor in the cost of an Audio Grade AC outlet, and audiophile-quality power cord to include within the budget.
You might think of it in a similar way as I did when I once shopped for a preamplifier. I first considered the price of an audiophile-quality power cord to be included within the overall target price point, and found an ideal preamplifier for my particular wants/needs at an affordable cost-level by choosing a used preamplifier. Being able to enjoy a used preamplifier connected to AC delivery via a stellar audiophile power cord, plugged into an Audio Grade AC outlet was exactly what I sought for a better performing audio system.
...time, since I didn't seek a power conditioner, but a plain distributor. I didn't pay enough attention to the description of the bc660, which is a filter or something like that, and in their own words is "designed with digital components in mind." So, my apologies to everyone involved in helping me with that particular piece.
As for upgrading the AC outlet, I might consider it, but only after finding a device which is close for my needs.
Thanks for your thoughts, Duster.
If you must have 8 outlets, this is a very nicely made unit (~~ $700 new):

If you can make do with 6 outlets, look at the Furutech e-TP60 (3rd product down on the page at the link below). Neither the Shunyata or the Furutech do any filtration, just distribution, although the Furutech has some EMI absorbing material in the chassis that's not in the signal path. I have the Furutech, and it's the same top notch quality that's the norm for all their products.
Building a power distributor can be an easy DIY project. Buy a good enclosure, an Audio Grade IEC inlet, your choice of AC outlets, plus good wiring and an MKP type X-cap for each AC outlet and it's done. A fine thing about building a DIY power distributor is the ability to install an assortment of make/model Audio Grade AC outlets for custom system tuning purposes.
As Tweaker said buy from a place that allows returns. I always do that. To me this filter doesn't suffer from issues some can to limit dynamics. I think you will like it and you will notice a difference.
When you get it turn on your system and listen to five recordings you know and love THEN connect it and listen to them again.
Good luck.

Appreciate your advice, A-file. Definitely will give a try.
It almost certainly will alter the sound. You have to listen to it to see if you like it. If possible, be able to return it. As reported by a number of people it is possible for these things to both hurt and improve the sound. T456
Thanks, Tweaker. Gotta find a dealer who has a trial policy.
