High-end, low-end, middle-of-the-road cables. Sometimes, I prefer to make my own.

last week. But I just got the Diamond USB cable for my computer audio system and it definitely sounds different than the much cheaper Carbon. I will leave the value issue for each to decide, but I like it.
Regarding HDMI, the M series Monster Cable bested the Audioquest (lower end cables) for our HDTVs. And this was the unanimous opinion of everyone in the house. HDMI cable differences are very easy to see on a good HDTV, IMHO.
Steve
was just at Best Buy getting a Roku streaming box for the wife's TV and realized I had to buy an HDMI cable. The cheapest one they had was $30 and I was too far from the Apple Store to snag one of their $20-$25 cables. BB is going down the tubes quickly. They didn't have much in the way of shelf stock of anything except miles of Monster Cables. Will be looking for their fire sale on the M series.
You know I wouldn't mind the complaining about the price. Some of this stuff is way over priced. Audioquest is just as guilty with the super escalating price points for small changes in the cables.
The thing I object to is all the people running they're mouths about something they have no idea about. So many people saying there is no difference in sound from a 5 dollar cable adn you know they have never tried anything else.
It's nice to hear from someone who CAN hear a difference. I have the carbon USB and I like it. I would love the Diamond but I will need to find a dealer to take about half off before I buy one. I can't justify that expense.
I will try the monster M series. thanks for the tip.
Where did that number come from?? It was a funny article, written very cleverly. I found it funny. Should I tell him about the Nordost Odin???

"BEWARE the Blunted Needle!"
apparently.
HT for me means a nice flat screen, a HT receive for a few $100, a Polk Audio 5+1 speaker system, less than $300 IIRC, cheap DB player, etc.But that's me, clearly for others it's a whole other world ... and for them a few $1000 on HDMI cables would be no biggie.
Short’s the best position they is. Bullet in the Brain

About as informative and helpful as comments made by some of our very own cable naysayers.

Yup! I've been there trying to fight the good fight. I can't shake the guy who says he has 12 years experience installing audio. Nothing I say makes any sense to him. It's a good thing he has consumer reports to tell him $5 cables are as good as anything else.
