It except it doesn't. Even products made with the same materials, sound different, depending on design. I pulled out an old pair of Accu-Tech copper speaker cables the other day, and compared them to the copper MAC Cu speaker cables I'm currently using, the difference was not subtle. The Accu-Tech sounded opaque and diffused in comparison, and they're both made from copper wire. Go figure, different designs sound different.
