not that I know the exact prices involved here and what you are paying is none of my business but are we talking about using a speaker cable that lists over $5K on a speaker that lists for less than $3K?
If I am wrong apologies up front but as a general observation I would think this might be a case of overkill at least in terms of the dollar values involved...

Yeah, but.....ok here's the deal. I decided on the speakers first, which came in rather affordable for me. I could have spent more, but I fell in love with them right away:O) They were $3350 wt stands...I payed $2800 (no tax). My NAD C375BEE wt Yaquin Tube stage buffer cost a total of $1400 (replaced some very pricey Krell seperates)and my Denon A100 was steal at $1500 (reference caliber sound). My PV1D sub from B&W was $1600 (no tax). I have been an MIT guy for over a decade and I had to sell off my previous Oracle stuff to help pay some bills a while ago...I've regretted it ever since:O( So, I am slowly building my MIT stash back up to reference level stuff:O) Sadly. my IC's are only Shotgun level yet, but I had the opportunity to get the new HD 60's at a really good price and so I went for them! My experience has been that the speaker cables make a HUGE difference...yet another reason to go large on that area of my system. They will be with me for a long time. FYI, after living with MIT cabling and then NOT having it in my system for awhile, I can say definatively, that MIT cables are worth every penny. MIT cables ARE components IMHO and they MAKE my system(s)sound their absolute best...I've tried most all the rest. Anyway, that's my experience and the reasoning behind getting a $6700 speaker cables for a system that costs less in total dollars. I will not tell you what I'm paying however for the spkr cables....but it's a REALLY GREAT DEAL!!

I left out another large part of the deal...I sold my previous cables for what I payed for them and traded in another cable for full credit toward the new ones:O) Total cost comes in less than my speakers by several hundred dollars.
