Yeah the ite pretty much sucks but I just sold my adcom gfp-750 and gcd-750 in like 2 days so it is still viable.
Sold items disappear but might still be found though google and appear as [expired].
It disappears from the classifieds once it's sold.
There must be some competition? What are the alternative sites for selling your gear? TIA
one of the best alt. sites for selling gear is AA Trader. direct communications and dealing. mostly great people buying and selling. and its free. yes, free.

Audio Circle has a free classified section just like AA. I have sold stuff through there and it's good exposure.I remember the good old days of A'gon, but that was 1999-2001. $2 an ad for 30 days. Free software classifieds. Contact seller. A search function that actually worked. It was like Craigslist for the good stuff.

I'm gonna give it a try this weekend. We'll see.
So, has Audiogon also eliminated the feedback feature? I just sold a speaker there, and I don't see a way to leave feedback for the buyer.

They just want you to pay for their blue book pricing list.

ELIZABETH,
So that's it! I hate it! Often if I don't get their in time to make an offer previously and a posted item was marked sold, then I at least had the opportunity to write to the SELLER letting them know that I would like to purchase the unit if the current sale falls through. I probably ended up with THAT COMPONENT 25% OF THE TIME. Now the existance of the ad is "Just Gone".
I have to admit to not being the greatest with change, but, I just do not like the new Audiogon design.

I just ventured into the "New AudiogoN" selling a tube integrated amp. The minute I accepted an offer the ad. disappeared, but not before another offer came in. I was unable to reply to the second offer that came in probably just as I accepted the first one. I suspect the individual who made the second offer must think I'm a rude jerk because of no reply.
I hate the new AudiogoN, not because I can't deal with change, but because the change is for the benefit of A-gon only, and they have said F-U to their customers. The new site format has removed any vestage of direct human to human contact and interaction. We now have to go through "Big brother." If anything worthwhile developed I'd say bye to A-Gon in a heart beat.
So it really is the fault of all those cheating bastards... really.
If I owned Audiogon, I would be pissed about it too.
And just maybe the original person is gone? and some new younger hand is running the show. Audiogon is a business. Not a charity.
I cannot tell you how many obviously sold items just lingered for the 230 days.. Bullshit. they were sold 'under the table' and the seller never fairly paid the fee. So now we all pay the price.
They could've just raised their flat fee, if they wanted to increase profits. I for one, will never buy anything from a seller, that I can't communicate to over the phone.

You have a good point, and that is the reason they no longer list the member's e-mail addresses. I recently wanted to contact another member to discuss a piece of equipment they own, because I am considering purchasing the same model, but was unable to contact them.
