Hi Robert.
Good to see that you finally came up with a dipole woofer solution.
Quite a number of DIY people (including me) are enjoying this design (or the similar ripole/linkwitz design) since quite some time.
A dipole woofer is the perfect match for the fullrange driver.
Cheers

Looks great Robert. Bet it sounds it too, no beating dipole bass I reckon.
I'm curious about the fins on the side? And is it a ripole type configuration?
cheers
B.
ps just got back from a long holiday and found my new horns waiting - many thanks.
Hi,
thank you for informing me that the horns arrived you!
The Bastanis Dipole woofer is basically a w-frame design but it uses one 18" driver only. The non- symmetrical design of the Bastanis w-frame offers higher efficiency and dynamics than common w-frame designs, at the same time the radiation becomes equal to the radiation of the open baffles and makes it to a perfect partner for these. By the non- symmetrical design one 18"- driver offers the same dynamics as two 15" drivers in a dipole- configuration, no need for an additional 18" driver even for big rooms and high volumes.
The fins on the frontside of the dipole woofer-cabinets are required to get the matching width for the open baffles. The other fins are not essential, they cover the screws which are needed to remove the side of the dipole woofer- cabinet to mount the driver.
