Just a warm thanks to Rob for his latest update & efficient service. I have had the new drivers installed for 2 days. Right out of the box these things are playable.
After only 2 days, more detail is obvious.
In general, the sound I found is much fuller than the old WB's which had a slight tendancy to shout at loud volumes. Not so the Chrystals........! Smooth, cappuccino creaminess comes to mind!
Like the shine too!
Whats the point of all these felt pads you stuck on the chassis though Rob???
Cheers
Vic

hi Vic,
nice to see, that you replace the new chrystal drivers.
Please can you tell the diferences and benefits with the new drivers ?
Are they have same efic. ?

" nirvana " : )
regards baka
Hi BakaIt took a very long time for the original WB drivers to sound useable.....many many hours of breaking, & sound was very nasal. I was dreading the break-in period for the new drivers.
After I mounted new drivers in the baffle, I was surprised straight away that they sounded great. They are like different speakers & sound much fuller, warmer & not nasal at all. After 2 days playing now, they have started to loosen & open up. More detail is starting to come through. Efficiency is identical. I think they will be winners! Very pleased!
Cheers
Vic

something new, with the progres ?
share to us what hapenes afther 1 month ?
Hi,
the felt- pads inside the basket are damping back- reflections from the basket to the cone. The number and placement of the pads is important - a few more or positioned wrong and there is a noteable loss of details (over- damped).
There is some feedback on the Chrystal drivers in the Art of Sound forum and in the Norwegian Hifisentralen forum. Reading the online- translation is very funny but better to understand than many translated manuals of Chinese products - the meaning of the comments is clear.
Regards,
Robert Bastani
