Hi All
I have a DAC 1.1 kit, which I have upgraded to BGs, AN-V cable, V-Caps, Mullard NOS tube.
I am thinking of changing ALL the resistors (12 off) on the output board for Audio Note Tantalums.
Is this a good idea? Or is it best to put them in select positions, and spend the savings on replacing some Diodes on the digi board? Or maybe resistors on the power board?
Any insight would be great guys.
BTW I love the sound with my Audio Note M3 and 300b Conquests or with my Stax system. This would be a MORE OF THE SAME tweak I hope, as apposed to radically changing the sound signature of the DAC.

Hi,
I have upgraded the analog card of my Dac 4.1 with 2W resistors and Aura-Teflon capacitors: this has fully transformed my Dac 4.1 ! It is much better, more transparent, more detailed...
I have replaced all the transistors.
Hi Nounours18200
Thanks for the reply. Did you do it in one go, all Caps first then resistors next?
I have already replaced my AN caps (film in oil) to V-Cap Teflons which made a big difference in detail and dynamics. It also took the noise floor right down, which is nice, as the DAC 1.1 is a bit noisy as stock.
No, I have changed first the resistors and after the caps: The change of the caps has a much bigger impact ( improvement ) than the resistors change, even if it was noticeable.
you might want to check PS to the digital board... measure right at the PS pin of the DAC chip, after the regulator-cap-and the small choke.
