Interesting: where do you order the Tungsol Blackplate from ? I may order pair to compare them with my current Raytheon.
Have you already compared your Tungsol to another brand ?
Thanks

I found the Black Plate TungSols from Tempo Electric. You'll be dealing with Joe Levy who also makes some pretty darn good ICs and power cords too.
I haven't compared them to anything but what came in my DAC, sorry.
I completed my L4 Remote last Wednesday and it's burning in. I rolled in the TungSol and liked the sound enough to order a pair for it too.
The L4 and DAC 4.1 (and Mach2 music server), makes for a pretty stout front end. I'm looking forward to building a pair of Interstage Monos next:-)
Thank you very much for the info,
I just wait for other advices from guys having tried different 5687 tubes in their DAC3 / DAC 4...
GE grey plates from the '60s.
I use a Stello U3 converter via AES from a DIY fanless PC server.
Definately more texture and spaciality over the previous W4S DAC-2 via its own USB.
