We have gone through many similar trials and tribulations. I am very happy that the XR45 has worked out for you. I can see how it would lift the veil off the CJ tube amps. One trade off for another.

The 805 Signatures are not mine but a friend's. The 805 Signatures have provided me with some of the most musical pleasure I have heard anywhere. My buddy is a typical audiophile and is always searching for that perfect match that makes all CD's sound perfect. I subscribe to the 80% rule. Sell the remaining 20% of dreck CD's and you are magically at 100%. He has had various amp/preamps in his system and they all had their strenghts and weaknesses. The Panny XR45 made his speakers sound worse than any of the others. Some people think this is some sort of strength of the amplifier for exposing what is truly on the CD.
