I believe that the upgrade is no charge, if you purchased within the last 6 months. - go for it!Cut-Throat

I just found my receipt. My unit was shipped on 7/28/03. I might give him a call anyway, just to be sure.
It's gotta be within last 90 days...which means we both just missed the window. FVA's gotta make the cutoff somewhere, and he's being reasonable for folks like us whom just missed the cutoff. Still...damn, damn DAMN!!

Cut-Throat,I wish that were the case...
The upgrade is free for purchases shipped after August 20th, 2003. I was a little bummed out, as I bought my T7 just a month before.
Anyway, below is the link to AVA website that spells this out.

I checked their website and they seem to indicate that they will do the modification to units sold after August 20th. I am going to go dig for my receipts because that must have been close to when I bought mine. I remember this because Frank told me that I could take advantage of the summer special which was the free phono stage if I bought before the summer was over (August 31, I believe) and I know I just made it in time. Can anyone say how long this upgrade takes? I hate to be with my crappy old JVC receiver and Bose cubes (yeah, I know).
As Marc already said, talk with Frank and he will most likely work something out with you (he did with me as well). He basically said that he couldn't do the upgrade for free since we purchased the preamp during the summer special. If he did that, he could lose money.
For the record, mine shipped out 7/18/03.
