I agree, furthermore I still much prefer Class AB .

I've tried a number of Class D amps over the years. They sound pretty good but not great to me. But some folks seem to like them. They can offer excellent value. As I've said before, my personal belief is that they belong in sanely priced amps that offer great bang for the buck.... i.e. high value.
But when a manufacturer stuffs OEM Class D modules in a pretty chassis and charges crazy stratospheric audiophile pricing, that's just wrong. We can get better sound in traditional Class AB amps IMHO so the only place Class D makes perfect sense to me is in modestly priced amps or in situations demanding power efficiency. I have little respect for 'high-end' manufacturers who stuff OEM modules in a box.

First, generic but high quality amplification, (be it class D or whatever), has hit its stride and can compete with all but the highest quality and priciest high-end components.
Secondly, being what they are, audiophiles can still be suckered into believing that minor tweaks can not only make very small difference in sound but actual improvements.
I love the music of Dmitri Shostakovich ...
