The other maps one could go for are Parasound JC1 pair for 10K. The downside is the Parasound are made in China. Which for me is a no.
The 14B-SSTウ is said by at least one reviewer to be the best sounding of the cubed Brystons.

gear made in china (junk sourced) is a "NO" for me as well.
China has Doubtless made some bad business decisions in the past and has a reputation for cost-cutting at the expense of either quality or what they were contracted for in the first place.
Even aircraft have a problem with 2nd source and NON-Certified parts for service / repair. This is a world-wide issue and not 'caused' by China.
I think that if you manufacture in China, you Must keep a close eye on things so you get exactly what you are paying for. Some companies ARE successful at that but others decide it isn't worth the hassle and withdraw from that market.
This goes for anything made there. Electronics to shoes.
Too much is never enough
So true pictureguy- especially running shoes.
I'm not looking to spend $10k, I just wanted to give a ceiling for a comparison. The 4B is comparatively reasonable compared to similar powered amps from the likes of BAT, Ayre, Levinson, Pass etc. I was really looking if the 4b ran in that pack or not.
I have a 4B3 and love it more than a friends 28 Cubed. The 4B3 has plenty of power and is a little sweeter on top, perfect with my PS Audio BHK preamp. Absolutely wonderful amp. No amp envy here.
