I know there are better tubes, such Sylvavia 6SN7W tin bottoms, and I found a quad set of these for sale for $1,200 (probably used) and I heard that they do not last long. I just got done sending the Tung-Sols back for a refund.
I already posted a similar thread on the tube forum and somebody suggested the Sylvavia 6SN7GTAs.

Follow Ups:
You don't have to go to the metal base Ws, the short bottle Sylvania 6SN7W with the black bases are almost as good and can be still found for $100 per tube or less. I truly believe the Ws are right up there with the best 6SN7s ever produced.
They crush the green label GTAs you show, in my amp. Both good tubes though.
Enjoy the roll!
I would like to score on a pair of the Sylvania 6NS7Ws, and I will keep my eyes open for them.
I wish somebody would do a GOOD reissue of these tubes! If they could make them in 1945, they should be able to make them today although there may not be a big enough demand for these tubes given the larger picture.

Find good detailed pictures of your favorite 6SN7s then look for "noname" 6sn7s that look the same. You may be surprised.
