If so, avoid the No. 383 at all costs. Regardless of which powercords, interconnects, and sources we used, the No. 383 deadened and sucked the life out of everything. That's fine if you want to be put to sleep, but anathema to the enjoyment of music, movies, and video game sound. The No. 380 is a preamplifier. You can read my introductory old post about the No. 380S, by clicking on the link below.

Let us hope the newer, modern, No. 585 integrated amp is an improvement over the older No. 383-
I had meant the ML 383, since switched my interest to the 380S for use in the interim with one of my Proceed Amp 2s, and now in a quandary. I got started on this quest by the idea of replacing a Cary Cinema 12 and Parasound A 21 with a Parasound Halo Integrated so everything would fit in the equipment cabinet we use in the living room -- the A 21 sits on the floor beside the cabinet. Now I'm leaning towards using the C12 with an Amp 2 that will fit in the allotted space. I have no problem with two big JC 1 monoblocks sitting between the LR speakers with another under the center in our media room, but that's a room dedicated to music, HT, and computer use. HMM . . . there may be a used Halo Integrated available that I might try.
