As I suspected by way one of the turntables was described, where the company that developed, manufactured and marketed the table (Technics) gets third billing, this seems to be little more than a marketing exercise.

For those inmates who do not know, inmate tubesforever offered modifications for free to a number of people. Presumably these people agreed to help promote the services he would later charge for by making posts on this forum featuring his products.

Unfortunately, there have not been any tests to see if the modified bearing made things worse or not by measuring the rumble of the modified turntable. Furthermore, there the capacitance of the rewiring job was not tested correctly before some people were charged for the service. It came to light after patient and persistent questioning by John Ellison that the capacitance was tested by connecting opposite ends of the wire to a capacitance meter as one would do to measure the resistance.

If people want to modify their tables they should be free to do so. However, someone without the kind of technical knowledge required to make sure that their modifications do not make things worse should not be selling them to other people. Inmate tubesforever has a lot of friends on this forum but I don't think anyone could defend this in good conscience. If is unfortunate that this forum is being turned into a marketing scheme for products and services that are not thoroughly tested.
