Interesting article in the NY Times about a guy who made 78s, while a broadcast engineer, of some 1930s jazz radio broadcasts. The recordings have not been heard since that time.
The guy who is transcribing and cleaning up the discs is Doug Pomeroy. I was amazed to see that he had blu-tack sort of slapped on the tonearm of his SP-series Technics table, and on the headshell, a quarter. I guess us vinyl heads here are anal-rententive.....
