You have several good options as others have told you. The one main thing no matter how hard is to stay polite.
Go through the motions of filing a claim with UPS. You did not mention if you bought this on Ebay, you can file the item did not come in as it was discribed route. A very lengthy process, but in the end the seller does give you back the money if they can't come up with what you paid for, minus your shipping costs.
Some of those Ebay sellers are very dumb and have no clue how to ship things. They scan Ebay for what sells and then go to estate sales and buys those things, they then think they can ship them in a sub standard box with no problems.
I had 2 turntables shipped to me beyond repair. One I was able to re-sell for parts and the other I was able to get a full refund from the incompetent seller. I asked all the right questions and I made him agree he would cover any and all damages, this was after the first damaged one, live and learn.
Good luck with the TT, some people just don't get it.John...
