I never grounded the table and never had any problem with hum. But I do use balanced phono from cartridge through to the speakers (XLR intput to balanced phono stage, balanced amplifiers, etc.)I agree with Des, Bill Thalmann is terrific. However, I don't think he would make a handle for the platter or a platter lock nut wrench; see below.
