I recently switched from a Hana ML to a Grado Platinum 3, and then because I liked it so much a Reference 3. Even though the Platinum is an elliptical stylus, I had no more sibilance or IGD than with the Hana line contact. The Reference is of course much better in terms of transparency and inner detail, but at a much greater cost. I've also heard good things from people who own the Sonata 3, which is more in your price range. And with all levels you have the choice of output. The only downside I find with the current wood versions is that the overhang at the front makes alignment a bit of a chore.
