If you stick with the Rega cart (the Elys), it's as simple as it gets as one, the cart is already mounted to the arm, and aligned. All you have to do is slip on the counterweight and push all the way back and then rotate the dial to set the VTF, best with a scale and the instructions will tell you what that is.

The platter simply slip onto the sub platter, AFTER you slip out the cardboard insert that keep's the sub platter from resting on the bearing during shipment, belt is already installed and voila you are off and running in about 5 minutes or so. Could not be easier.

Now, installing a fresh new non Rega cart is another story, but doable (I did that as I already had a good Grado to use), but then again, I've done this before so knew much of what I was doing.

Don't worry too much, most tables these days now come with the cart installed and aligned and all you need to do is set the VTF and you're golden anyway.

Good luck!
