Both the Deccas and the Londons were pressed in the same plant from the same stampers, so why does the Decca always sound so much better?
Try this: take a good Decca wideband and a London blueback from about the same era, preferably the same record from the same stampers. Take each record out of the sleeve, hold it between your hands, and shake it up and down. You will hear a different sound, and the Decca will seem stiffer and harder to bend.
It looks to me like different vinyl formulations were used.
