Is there oil in the bearing well? I would also check the belt, maybe worn? The motor may run silent without the belt/platter, but when pressure is introduced from the belt, it may cause motor noise. Hopefully it's under warranty. It appears to be a common problem, do a google search. Are the transport screws removed? Hopefully a dealer can help.
