Thanks for the information. Yes, the 4.1 (kit) is a superb DAC IMO. have you heard the finished product UK model? Those big caps sounds interesting. Once I took out the AN Coppers to the line board, and added V-Cap Teflons, it really woke it up and the dynamics and bass were better (already good).

I would also recommend the Bendix 6X5 equivalent, it draws 50% more power but Peter Q said it sounds better in my AN UK M3 pre-amp, and it did the same thing to my DAC kit as well.

Also try rolling the ECL82, it makes a bigger difference than the 5697s! I use Mullard NOS, great midrange and smooth highs.

I am fitting AN 496 I/Vs this week, I bought them second hand. I have read they make a big difference as well, more than going higher on the C-Cores to AN HiB for example. I think Brians C-Cores are already good, probably equal to the base C-Cores at AN UK, maybe a bit better.
