It sounded from the wording of your original post that you were laying the responsibility squarely at the feet of the mastering engineer, when in fact by the time we get it, in most cases the damage has been done.

All I wanted to do was explain that there's a whole lot more going on earlier on in the process, that's a whole lot more important that what we do at the very end.

So I agree with what you were TRYING to say, but not what you actually said.

Other than that, I think we both agree on pretty much all points ;-)

Just setting the record straight, so to speak.
