The problem with the 250/240/250M family is when the outputs fail, they take out the speaker relay and start eating back to the diff pairs. DC coupled has it fans but...

All transistors are suspect and need to be tested. And all the collector resistors and emitter resistors. there is always a lot of failed components.

I've been able to get modern equivalents for the transistors but it is a lot of work. Mouser has (or had) replacement PS caps too (shorter but same diameter screw tops).

I say 'never again' and keep getting them on my bench. I think I've fixed at least 5.
