I only listen to vinyl. I was using a H-K Citation Seventeen SS preamp that I have owned since it was new. It got something wrong with one of the circuit boards so I replaced the circuit with the phono preamp in the RCA tube manual, and used 12AU7 output cathode followers. Six tubes altogether. There is an amazing difference in the way it sounds. I am using 604E speakers in VOT cabinets and it's the first time the high frequencies have sounded right.
