Tweakers' Asylum: "box" for 2-line level in and volume pot by richard

If buy these below, keeping costs under $400; how do I handle volume on the mono bloc waves.

Paradigm Atom 180/pr
ASL The Wave Mono block 200/pr
Sanjean 909 shortwave / fm radio
with stereo line out
CD source--probably disc man style portable; like RS 3400.

People who have talked to me say it's workable, "all you to do is go to Radio Shack, get a sound pot, mabye build a little box; install RCA female". Get that much but wire it how? put the sound pot where?

I can do point to point wiring, but have no idea about reading a schematic. I'm not even clear exactly where a sound pot would go: between what two components.

OTH, is this so compromised that I just ought to build, what is ForePlay or buy ASL pre-amp head-phone amp.
