It has been a few years since my last amp build, but I typically bought and used varnished copper wire for point-to-point connections. It might have been some sort of magnet wire, but it was pretty stout stuff, like maybe 16 gauge? Words like "long crystal" and "pure copper" seem to ring a bell. I used to get it from the DIY tube parts suppliers on the Internet. I thought I saved a roll of it, and I have gone looking for it but no luck.

Anybody else remember more about what it was, and better yet know whether it's still available?
