My overall experience with them was quite positive when used in some conrad-johnson equipment (Premier 16LS2 and Premier 140) years ago. At the time they were a relatively inexpensive alternative to their 6V brethren. In those cases where I had both the 6V and 7V versions of the same tubes I'd be hard pressed to say I heard any difference between the two types.
