I'm VERY happy with my pair of newish PSA BHK 300 monoamps, each of which uses a pair of 6922/6DJ8s.. Paul McGowan and Bascom King recommend the NOS Tungsram 7DJ8/PCC88 (they come with NP Genelex 6922s) and have encouraged owners to try others.

I have a set of the Tungsrams and a set of Matsushita/National PCC88/7DJ8s* on the way, and I'm bidding on a set of Siemens/Rohre PCC88/7DJs** (see link).. But I'm curious about others' experiences with 7DJ8s in place of 6DJ8s. And yes, I do read PSA's threads on tube rolling in both their poweramps and preamps.. Interestingly to me, they have heater-Voltage switches in the preamps.

So...anyone else have positive or negative experiences with the 7s?
.

* apparently the 7-Volt equivalents of the Matsushita/National 6DJ8s I already have.
** if won, these will be my first-ever Siemens tubes in 74 years...that this oldfart can remember. :-)
