Looking for a low mu option for driver stage of a 2a3 amp with DHT input tube such as 2P29L. Didn't want a greedy 6AS7 type, didn't fancy a 6BX7 so boiled it down to a choice of single triodes. So I've ordered some 6AH4 and 1626. Using an octal socket it's also possible to use a 6J5 type and put a resistor divider in front of it, so you have choices. The resistor divider kept most though not all of the good sound.
Other single triodes include 6AF5G, 6AE5G, 6CK4 with octal bases. I remember preferring the 6AH4 to the 6CK4. Not tried the other two. There's also the ML4 and 843 with other bases.
