Alodine is toxic and potentially carcinogenic, so I wouldn't soak a panel in it. That said, I use an Alodine pen to treat aluminum chassis to ensure electrical connectivity among all the panels. Basically I have the panels anodized, then remove some anodizing around the screw holes using a Dremel wire wheel. I then use the Alodine pen to treat only the bare metal areas, allow it to dry, and assemble. Works great to ensure a solid, corrosion-resistant electrical connection between panels.
