I like powder coat, but it can't replace anodize unless we're adding silkscreen to the process. I can do a front or rear panel relatively quickly by engraving, then anodizing and filling the cuts. Powder adds another process that I don't have time or space to do myself. You can believe me when I say that my garage is completely full with the metalworking tools needed to do this work the way I want and the anodizing system. That's why I sent my two preamp chassis out for powder. The company did a great job, and even if it's a little pricey, I have no regrets. :)
